This is a tale of two people who grew up in different worlds, who against all odds found each other. The story begins in 2023 online, on Hinge, where Matthew and Tomisin met. They spoke for about a month, getting to know a bit about each other, their interests, and so on. After a month of chatting on the phone they decided to meet and go on a date.

Their first date was in Toronto, on December 9, 2023, where they went to Yorkdale mall, had coffee/hot chocolate, and dinner. Matthew has made reservations at Earl's Kitchen, but when at the mall Tomisin noticed they had a Cheese Cake Factory. Matthew noticed her face light up when she found this fact out and he quickly decided to change the plan. Tomisin was so happy with this change, she still brings it up to this day! At the end of their first date, when Matthew was dropping Tomisin off at home, he said goodnight and slipped in a "love you". This was not a conscious intention, but this slip of the tongue was a sign of love to come.

The first date turned into a second, and then many more. Weeks turn to months and the two quickly came inseparable. Going to family birthday parties, going to Cabo Mexico, and eventually Lagos Nigeria for their introduction with Tomisin's parents. All this within 1 year!

Following their trip to Lagos, Nigeria Matthew proposed with a ring on October 19, 2024. (He had to lock that down! lol) Tomisin said YES! (Who wouldn't with a total knock out like Matthew. lol) Quickly after this they began to plan their civil and larger weddings.

This is a brief glimpse into the life's and stories of two people who fell in love in a "little" place called Toronto.
